Infrared Sauna
Quick read: Infrared saunas utilize radiant heat that directly warms the body, unlike traditional saunas which heat the surrounding air.
How to do it
- 1 Hydrate well: Drink 1-2 glasses of water before entering the sauna. You may bring a towel to sit on and a water bottle for inside the cabin.
- 2 Set Temperature: Enter the preheated infrared sauna and set the temperature to a comfortable range, typically 120-150°F (49-65°C). Beginners should start at the lower end.
- 3 Relax and Breathe: Sit or recline comfortably. Focus on slow, deep breathing to enhance relaxation. You can read, meditate, or simply enjoy the quiet.
- 4 Monitor Session Time: Aim for 15-45 minutes per session. If new to infrared saunas, begin with 15-20 minutes and gradually increase duration as your body adapts.
- 5 Cool Down and Rehydrate: After your session, slowly exit the sauna. Allow your body to cool down gradually for 5-10 minutes. Shower if desired to rinse off sweat. Immediately rehydrate with 2-3 glasses of water or electrolyte-rich fluids.
- 6 Listen to Your Body: If you experience dizziness, nausea, or any discomfort, exit the sauna immediately. Consult a healthcare professional if you have underlying health conditions. With regular use, expect to feel more relaxed, refreshed, and notice improved muscle recovery and reduced stress.
